Unibody MacBook Pro not starting up after battery depleted
The first time my battery got empty on my brand new unibody Apple MacBook Pro I got really scared and pissed off. It just would not start up again. I was certain it will be a case for Mac Store guarantee department.
Now, years and two unibody MacBooks later I don’t worry any more. I know that after the battery power has run out I will have to wait at least 5 minutes plugged until my machine will restore the last session. I’ve tested it with 15″ and 17″ machines and both of them have this problem.
So if it happens to you, don’t get scared and start calling Mac Store too soon. Just wait for at least 5-10 minutes before you do, as it will probably start up soon.
Another Tip!
Second thing what’s a bit weird on unibody MacBooks is the time until it goes to sleep after you close the lid. It takes about a minute before it get’s silent. If possible try not to pack it into your bag before it’s totally silent. If you do and something goes wrong in the bag, and the machine won’t turn itself off you will get a really hot machine when you take it out later. Happened to me a couple of times. If it’s active in the bag for too long, I’m sure you will fry something inside.
I asked about this in MacStore and the geniuses said it’ll be fixed with the latest Snow Leopard update, but it’s still there. I guess it didn’t get fixed after all

Hi… I don’t know if you’ve been making changes, but your pages aren’t displaying correctly for me. The edges of the text are running into each other. I didn’t do this the other day. If you do and something goes incorrect in the bag, and it will not convert itself off you will get a really hot device when you take it out later. Occurred to me twice. If it’s dynamic in the bag for very lengthy, I’m sure you will fry something within.
